Down the toilet is about where the New Orleans Saints went in the second half of last night’s 41 – 10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
Along with the Saints went many a fantasy owner last night, as the Saints’ offense failed to score a touchdown and turned the ball over three times.
Quarterback Drew Brees threw two interceptions and lost one fumble, Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister failed to break 40 yards rushing, and Marques Colston and Devery Henderson both were held to under 50 yards receiving.
The lone bright spot on the Saints’ offense may have been Eric Johnson, who caught eight passes for 57 yards.
Meanwhile, Colts’ players surely made many fantasy owners happy as the Indy O kicked it into high gear in the second half.
Peyton Manning dropped 288 yards on the Saints defense to go along with his three touchdown passes. Reggie Wayne (115 yards) was the recipient of two of those touchdowns and Marvin Harrison (83 yards) snagged the other.
Joseph Addai added 118 yards rushing and a score, and caught three passes for 25 yards.
