Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Expert Brandon Funston posted the lastest edition of his top-100 fantasy players for this season.
Here is a glance at his top-10:
- LaDainian Tomlinson
- Larry Johnson
- Steven Jackson
- Shaun Alexander
- Frank Gore
- Joseph Addai
- Rudi Johnson
- Ronnie Brown
- Willie Parker
- Laurence Maroney
Ronnie Brown is too high. He played poorly last season and although there is potential for him to improve, I do not think he improves this much. Brown is more like a top-15 guy.
Brian Westbrook should be in the top-10 despite his ever-present injury concerns. Westbrook had too good a season last year to dismiss his potential this season. Funston currently has Westy at No. 11, so he is on the brink.
Joseph Addai and Frank Gore … who would have thought these two guys would be in the top-10 before last season? It really is amazing. The thing about both these guys is they have extensive injury histories which makes their status volatile. But both are young guys in the spotlight with their respective franchises and should continue to produce. Addai has more help with the Colts’ offense than Gore with the 49ers, which could play a factor in both player’s longevities.
Laurence Maroney is a little iffy at No. 10. He does have the promise and is the go-to guy in New England now, but there are concerns about his shoulder following off-season surgery. His situation is one-to-watch.
Steven Jackson may surpass Larry Johnson this season, but LJ still is the main offensive weapon of the Kansas City Chiefs. If Johnson can stay healthy, he certainly will finish in the top-3 this season.
